Requirements
You must perform highly skilled remote work (employee, collaborator or freelancer).
Minimum of 6 months experience working as a digital nomad or remote worker.
You must demonstrate stable income from abroad.
Most sources cite an approximate requirement of €28,000 per year (about USD ~30,000) or equivalent to three times the threshold set for the Italian healthcare system.
You must have private health insurance valid in Italy for the entire duration of your stay (usually 1 year).
You must provide proof of accommodation in Italy for the duration of the visa (rental agreement, property, etc.).
Many consulates require that the contract cover the entire year of your stay while the visa is valid.
A clean criminal record certificate (without convictions) from the last few years is required.
